A platform for all the emotions inside a museum
Museums hand you a sixty-word label and an unnamed voice. ArtString gives the rest of it back — what visitors actually think, standing where you're standing, alongside the museum rather than against it.
A museum is a silently loud place. Hundreds of people stand in front of the same painting and say almost nothing aloud — yet everyone is feeling something, remembering something, quietly disagreeing with the label in their head.
ArtString is where that goes. The museum's own words stay, named and intact; beside them sit the readings of other visitors, equally named, on equal footing. The museum is in the room — it just isn't the one being addressed.
You don't have to write anything. Most people won't, and that's the platform working as intended: a place to read what the label couldn't hold — the association, the argument, the joke, the grief — and to see a collection through more than one pair of eyes.
